Abstract: The aim of this study is to demonstrate how a hyperspectral image can be used for a land cover mapping. For this purpose, 242 channel Hyperion image of Ulaanbaatar area was classified using a special modelling technique. The result of the hyperspectral image classification was compared with a result of a Landsat TM image of the same area and it demonstrated a better accuracy.
