This not only increases the population density of the city, but also causes many negative consequences in the current manner. One of these is the issue of icing in the suburbs of the city. Icing is a sheet like mass of layered ice formed on the ground surface, or on river or lake ice, by freezing of successive flows of water that may seep from the ground, flow a spring or emerge from below river or lake ice through fracture [1]. The icing of Ulaanbaatar is being often caused by source of soil water or springs.
