Abstract: This paper is based on the research works, which were made in Bor-Undur soum of Khentii province and Tsogttsetsii soum of Umnugovi province, to identify impacts of mining and quarrying industries except environmental, ecologic, social and economic factors on reducing population and raising migration for soums. For Tsogttsetsii and Bor-Undur soums, total area which is carried out for mining and quarrying industries has been changed from 1100 hectares to 3873 hectares, from 196 hectares to 719 hectares for soum center and urban area, from 2309 to 4977 for population and from 1031 to 1806 for a number of households respectively. According to the research, soum center and urban area, population and households tend to increase when the area which is carried out for mining and quarrying industries may be increased. Therefore, the fall of population and households may have been observed as a result of economic crisis in mining and quarrying industries in recent years.
