Using Hovsgol National Park as an example, we have made an assessment of the changes in landscapes occurring from 1992 to 2008, determined the chief causes of them and outlined the principal management tasks regarding specially protected natural territories focusing on minimizing the level of negative effects. We examine the ecological problems faced by the National Park and the associated hazards and suggest recommendations on an optimization of management of the Park with a view to decrease the possible occurrence of challenging ecological hazards.
