Rotary club implemented 5 projects in 2014 within the framework of “Keep Mongolia Green” project in order to protect the soil erosion and desertification, initiate the activity on forestation of Mongolia, to develop irrigated agriculture areas, increase the household income and improving their the food supplies as well. As a result of the project, number of tree, shrub and bushes planted in gobi area and steppe with sand movement, started to practice agriculture with irrigated system and in lining with these activities grass plants started to grow and forest covered areas extended.
“Khuree Rotary” club implemented the “Orkhon community forest project” ” MG#65381 during 2009-2012 years based on The Institute of Geoecology (former name), Mongolian Academy of Sciences’ “Darkhan-us” science, industry, experimental research study center in Darkhan-Uul province’s Orkhon soum. As a result of the project implementation forest cover and fencing area established in irrigated agriculture area, provided support for 48 individuals to grow vegetables and increased the household income by initiating the paid work positions.
