Ganga Lake is with a freshwater and it’s located at 1250 m, above sea level, which is from 12 km South East of the Dariganga soum center in Sukhbaatar province, with steppe and Gobi zones. In recent years this beautiful lake has been dried-up. Some of our research results show that Ganga Lake was 6.9 km in length and area was 2.0 km2 in 2005, but in 2016 the area was reduced to 0.66 km2, and it has been dried-up to almost no water in 2017. The Ganga Lake is to get the main recharge from the three spring water flows which is named by Orgikh, Bayan, and Kharaat. The Orgikh, spring discharge was 0.004 m3/sec, Bayan and Kharaat springs discharge was dried-up and that was scrawl into underground. Also, we are measuring well of the wells at the Ganga Lake Resort located 1 km northwest of Ganga Lake is 0.006 m3/sec. Also, we are measured which is at the Ganga Lake Resort located 1 km northwest of Ganga Lake there is a pump well that discharge was 0.006 m3/sec.
We had been determined to underground water resources and regime, using the geophysical methodology such us ERT method, around the Ganga lake, it has advantages of our research study. We had ERT survey at several points around the Ganga Lake using electric resistance methods range from 19.2 Ohm.m to 4686 Ohm.m. Of these are water-bearing layers between 19.2 and 53.8, water clay permeability between 53.8 and 300, and over 300 dry pebbles, sand and volcanic rocks.
